Tessa Newcomb was born in Suffolk, daughter of the artist Mary Newcomb. She attended Norwich School of Art

and Bath Academy of Art.She then went on to Wimbledon School of Art to do an Advanced Year’s Printmaking course.Tessa taught Art and Ceramics in East Anglia from 1985-89
Scenes of the countryside and coastline as well as figures,boats animals and birds are her subjects all with a warm glow and a sense of fun.

Tessa has exhibited widely throughout the UK and also in Holland. Her work is in various public collections as well as numerous private collections in the UK, Europe and the USA.
Tessa also exhibits her ceramics and prints.. She has designed jacket illustrations for books and her painted furniture is easily recognisable.

Tessa’s work is the subject of a book by critic and author Philip Vann.
She lives and works in Suffolk with her partner, the artist Telfer Stokes, son of Margaret Mellis.
