Philip Sutton (1928–2019) was an English-born Australian artist known for his vibrant, abstract style that combined figurative elements with a bold use of color. After moving to Australia in the late 1940s, Sutton became a prominent figure in the Melbourne art scene. He was one of the leading proponents of the modernist movement in Australia during the mid-20th century.

Sutton's work often featured simplified, geometric shapes and bright, contrasting colors, drawing influence from European modernism while also reflecting his deep engagement with the Australian landscape and culture.
